Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino plans multi-million dollar expansion

Chairman Louis J. Manuel, Jr., members of the Ak-Chin Indian Community Tribal Council as well as representatives from the Community recently announced plans for a multi-million dollar expansion at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. With initial work to begin in spring 2016, the expansion is expected to include a spa, a conference center with multi-use ballroom space, a parking garage, additional restaurants and more than 200 additional rooms. Maricopa is a community of approximately 48,000 residents. BUT, as a community is has a bright future. It is becoming a destination community, with its continual growth and addition of "things to do!" A mere 30-40 minutes from either Sky Harbor, or Phoenix Gateway Airports or most Metro Phoenix communities. Maricopa has the small town feel, low crime, and peaceful living appeal!

Arizona sees biggest population increase since 2008.

Arizona’s population increased 1.5 percent over 2013 to 6.7 million, according to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Even though Arizona saw fewer than 100,000 new residents, it’s the largest year-over-year population increase since 2008, when the state’s growth rate was 1.8 percent.
